New Term, New Brief.
7am wake up calls are back! First day back at uni today after 4 weeks off... safe to say this afternoon was intense! We got given our new brief for a live project working with clothing shop Watershed. The store is situated in Newquay, Cornwall. I have literally just today found out where/what/who/where the brand and store is, so i need to do some intense research starting with a day trip to Newquay tomorrow with the girls!

#Illustrations
having nothing to i decided to work on my illutration skills and improve my drawing. i am now much more confident in drawing figures free hand rather than using a template. I used a mixture of water colours and a fineliner pen to finish all illustrations. i am definatley more excited to start next terms design project.
Saturday
#Topshop Want - blue blue blue

quick saturday night topshop window shop and i come across these beautiful dresses! My favourite is the neon tie dye mini dress, its beutiful! The 3 dress price from £29 - £42, i think way student loan arrives in 2 weeks i have some serious shopping to be done!
#waitingwaitingwaiting

i've always had a bit of an obsession with floral prints, but im absolutely obsessing over these floral pants! i think theyre totally gorge! also the vintage denim culottes are the cutest trousers i have seen in ages, there just so fun and now! the Fashion Photography course were asked to find an image that they wish they had taken which they had to present and explain why. i had never thought of looking at clothing and designers in this way, i think it really helps you appreciate who/what you want to be.
whilst lusting over all of these gorgeous clothes i treated myself to this gorgeous shirt..

i personally love the print in this and the colour is gorgeous, but im sure my friends will think differently! im hoping it will come monday morning in time for me to go and see olly murs for the 6th time in concert Monday night.. fingers crossed!

#Term as a Fashion Student at Falmouth
Second term at uni is coming to an end. i cannot believe how quickly the term has gone, its insane!! so much has happened in 10 weeks! Denim Project, Research, Design, Make & Crit, Yoga Brief, Research, Design, Make & Crit, London Fashion Week, Collaborations with Fashion Photography, and House hunting for next year with my best friend! its been insane, it really has.
Before starting uni everyone i spoke to about doing fashion design said how intense the course was and how fast paced everything was. i have never heard such truer words spoke. no matter how much someone tells you how intense it is, you can't ever prepare yourself enough. there is never enough hours in the day to do everything, its usually the socialising that takes a side track unfortunately. but i have found you are never ever bored! its impossible. we have just finished our 2nd major project of the term and found out we don't have an easter project, which came as a massive shock. meaning 4 weeks of nothing. in a weirdly nerdy way im kind of disappointed i like being occupied i dont like doing nothing, but im sure i can find something to do :)

But for now im just going chill in my last few days of term and make the most of being in sunny Falmouth. Maybe even pop to the beach tomorrow afternoon, i definitely dont take enough advantage of being so near to the sea.

Uni Post #2
Instead of finishing off design developments ahead of my crit on Friday, i decide to procrastinate on here instead.. woops! so i had my final tutorial of this project today and hey ho i didn't take any work with me.. bit awkward! but on the positive, my denim shorts for oasis are finally completed with buttons and rivets and ready to be shot tomorrow in our pop up studio.. in the flat! i will post the final images on here tomorrow night as long as it all goes to plan (yn) fingers crossed!
i found out today that having a good customer profile page/board is pretty essential to the project, and me not having one quickly whipped one up, better late than never i suppose :) along with a mood board, trying combine a customer profile of young, feminine, cutesy, and creative, with my concept of Beautiful Decay was a slight challenge but once it came together im pretty happy with the outcome, yayyyy!! it made sense to use my gorgeous model Sophie as my target customer, knowing her and her characteristics made the designing and understanding alot easier :) woo! hehe,

its fair to say i am loving my first year as a fashion student, but believe me i cannot wait to not have see a another river, belt loop or fly guard for a good while! i felt exactly the same way about my shirt before christmas!

Uni post #1
Ive been in uni 4 months nearly and i havent posted anything work related yet! We're currently working on a denim project, with the outcome to make a pair of "5 pocket jeans". My concept is "beautiful decay" looking at decaying objects and sufaces that still appear beautiful to the eye. Also the brand i decided to design for was the high street brand Oasis. Oasis are one of my favourite high street brands, i love their feminity in the branding and styling. Im currently in the process of making the shorts i have designed, and will be modelled by my gorgeous floor mate, sophie. Cheeky! Im really enjoying this project, i am definately more driven than the last project. Im going to try and get some photos up when there all finished and hopefully looking gorge, but for now ive got few working progress snaps :')

Erdem pre-fall 13' collection
Browsing Tumblr and coming across Erdem's Pre-Fall 13' Collection, was definitely a good moment yesterday! Erdem caught my eye back in year 13 during a textiles project, and i was looking into the designers at LFW, and since has always been a well used brand in my research projects and inspiration!
theire collections are always just so feminie, girly but are always obviously Erdem. if i had the dollar and wasn't a poor student i wold most definately invest in one of these beautiful dresses!!

Friday
i can see the light!!
i've been putting off doing work for the whole of my half term but i finally gave in and stress levels took over yesterday! i think it was a good thing though as i finally have a some strong designs to work from for my final exam piece next week! yayyy:) my theme for this project was exotic. my initial ideas were to create a red carpet collection inspired by unusual and exotic birds. but research took over and my mind overloaded and now my final designs will be influenced by all things carnival and Brazil :) so designing and sampling for 3 days can run at me!
thought it would be nice to share with you guys what takes over my life inbetween blogging. here it is!
Much Love
