Mermaid Nails!

The only downside to this gorgeous weather we've been getting is definately the muggy nights that come with! Mehh. So these hot sleepless nights lead to my pointless but pretty nail painting:) yayy! I wanted something bright, summery, and wearable! So my barryM Pure turquoise, and my trusty Models Own Juicy Jules were the perfect combo!

These were so simple to do but are soo pretty and sparkly:D i picked up a cheap pack of stick on nails from good old Home Bargains and away i went! Apply One thick coat of BarryM and leave overnight to dry completely. The next morning or night which ever is easiest, apply the glitter coat:) and tah-dahh!! Sparkly mermaid nails, perfect for this luscious weather!

Easter / Spring Nails :)

i lovelovelovelovelovelove these nails!! i wasnt feeling to great yesterday, mix of a hangover, hayfever, temperature and flu.. so a bit of TLC really perked me up:) i've been loving the pastel trends at the moment and have been experimenting with various nail options for a couple of weeks, but these are my absolute faves!  they were so simple to do to, i always regret not taking "before, during, and after" photos when doing nail art, but they were so easy im just going to explain what i did using 3 words! dot the brush!  it was that simple!, i used a base coat of Rimmel Lycra French Manicure in 461 Nude Silouhette and then took my Barry M Mint Green and Berry Ice Cream, along with my Models Own Fuzzy Peach and Pastel Pink and began dotting! i then applied a layer of Models Own Juicy Jules for my usuall glittery touch!:)

seriously give it ago and let me know how you get on! :)  im thinking of investing in some cheap acrylic nails and painting them soon, i much prefer and acrylic shape and finish!

Monday

Monet-esq nails :)

french white, rimmel 60 second, barryM in various colours, rimmel Pro, Models Own x2, & Elf.

When i came across Ugly Duckling's  blog, and found these nails, i couldn't help but try them out for myself! as much as i love them i didn't want to blatantly copying them.  so i put my my own little glitter obsessive twist on them ( like most other nails of mine... ) but still so simple too do!:) happy days.

hopefully this will be one of my better nail tutorials as i actually remembered to take some pictures as i went along this time, even if it was 1am this morning/last night?!  so enough of my babbling let me show you how to these Monet-esq nails :)

start with a double base coat of Mint Green BarryM Nail Paint. easy bit done :) then grab a make-up sponge and a pair of tweezers, got them ? simply rip off small sections of the make-up sponge with the tweezers, and keep it safe!  i used Models Own Fuzzy Peach, Rimmel Pro Pink and BarryM Lilac for the flowers.  so grab that little piece of sponge and dip it into your chosen nail paint, then simply dab rough circular shapes on you nails and allow to dry.  repeat this on all of your claws until you get your desired pattern :) i added a little bit of shading with darker toned polishes using the same effect but smaller sponge :) then comes the fun bit, sparkleees :)  same technique but with a green glitter polish, if you haven't got a glitter a matte polish will work just as well! even more reason for the last coat of glitter if you haven't used a glitter green, to add that extra sparkle!:) and bobs your teapot, you've got Monet inspired nails, what do you think ?

Wednesday

all things pretty :)

for my first proper attempt of fruity nails at 1:00am last night i don't think these are half bad in all fairness!  there are some messy ones but please don't judge too harshly :)

so basically these nails are super simple to do! if i had thought about it whilst i was doing them i would have taken step by step photos, but i don't think of these things in the moment :) anyways! simply two coats of Models Own Fuzzy Peach, leave to dry and then apply one coat of Models Own Juicy Jules.  Carefully then  paint a thin line of Models Own Emerald City along the tip of you nail (basically like a french tip:) ) then i used E.L.F Dark Navy for the seed like pips using a cocktail stick (ideally a nail art pen would be best!!) but cocktails sticks will do for the lesser pro's amongst us!:) boom bobs your teapot! Watermelon-esq nails:)  anyone got any more fruity nail art ideas for me to try? im thinking of possibly doing some candy stripes next...

January in pictures :)

1.Myself + Sophie,  2.The Shoes!,  3.Models Own Glitter,  4.Barry with the girls,  5.BarryM 147,  6.Bargain Watch,  7.Baba Bryn,  8.Haribo,  9.Sex + the City Boxset,  10.Wave Envy.

seems as its the last weekend of january, i thought i would do a little review of first month in 2012.  i can't believe how fast this years going already!! started by celebrating my friends 18th + the arrival of my beautiful Krush shoes:)  my total addiction to my Model's Own Glitter Set! and my investments into Pastel Lip Paints.  a bitterly cold trip to Barry Island, and my beautiful findings in Primark! along with a new addition to the family "Sexy Bryn" Bryn for short...

it's fair to say i've had pretty good start to the year already, and i hope it holds out for the rest of the year! fingers crossed it will!  i've shockingly met my deadlines just in school.  but have my two 6 week exam papers looming... mehh!  i'll get myself through it by dedicating my evenings to Carrie and the gang
