Monet-esq nails :)

french white, rimmel 60 second, barryM in various colours, rimmel Pro, Models Own x2, & Elf.

When i came across Ugly Duckling's  blog, and found these nails, i couldn't help but try them out for myself! as much as i love them i didn't want to blatantly copying them.  so i put my my own little glitter obsessive twist on them ( like most other nails of mine... ) but still so simple too do!:) happy days.

hopefully this will be one of my better nail tutorials as i actually remembered to take some pictures as i went along this time, even if it was 1am this morning/last night?!  so enough of my babbling let me show you how to these Monet-esq nails :)

start with a double base coat of Mint Green BarryM Nail Paint. easy bit done :) then grab a make-up sponge and a pair of tweezers, got them ? simply rip off small sections of the make-up sponge with the tweezers, and keep it safe!  i used Models Own Fuzzy Peach, Rimmel Pro Pink and BarryM Lilac for the flowers.  so grab that little piece of sponge and dip it into your chosen nail paint, then simply dab rough circular shapes on you nails and allow to dry.  repeat this on all of your claws until you get your desired pattern :) i added a little bit of shading with darker toned polishes using the same effect but smaller sponge :) then comes the fun bit, sparkleees :)  same technique but with a green glitter polish, if you haven't got a glitter a matte polish will work just as well! even more reason for the last coat of glitter if you haven't used a glitter green, to add that extra sparkle!:) and bobs your teapot, you've got Monet inspired nails, what do you think ?

What I Bought...

a trip to Cribbs Causeway is always a successful trip!  always find some bargains once i got something like 5 bras for £8 and the other day i got £1 giraffe necklace down from £9!! These are a few of my buys, a very random selection i know, but all necessities! of course my monthly purchase of the bible that is Elle! i have got round to reading it yet, but i think a nice hot chocolate and some biscuit tonight should help me get started :)

the giraffe necklace.. OMG, how cute?? for the £1 price tag there was no-way it was staying there!!  im a huge fan of the accessorize sale, i nearly always find a bargain, but like in any sale you get your dodgy items chucked in for good measure.. not always the best.  so when i saw it was down from £9 i was looking for faults, miss-colouring, a broken chain.. nothing! it was in perfect condition, result!

this winter weather has really dried out my skin this year. i never usually suffer with my skin in cold weather but this year my skin has been a real play up, cracking from all angles :( so investing in a good moisturiser was a total must this week!  i'm trying out these Vitamin E products by Superdrug, I bought an All over Body Cream and a Hand & Nail Cream, so far im impressed! they are definitely living up to the '12 hour moisture' tag, and they smell amazing!! even better :)

i've been eyeing up this skirt for aaaaages! i saw it the same time as this skirt, but the difference is i finally bought this skirt!! i say this with my head in my hands, but that was actually my first RI clothing purchase.. i've had plenty of jewellery and shoes from there but never clothing!  but im pretty chuffed with my first RI buy:) i love the Aztec print and the 'short at the front long at the back' will really work for summer nights out! yaaay!!

Sudacrem. Sudacrem. Sudacrem... i absolutely swear by this! its amazing for spots.  i've been using for about a year now, and i've just run out of a 10g free sample pot! yes a year!!  so little goes so far with sudacrem. i'd recommend it to anybody who suffers with the occasional breakout to consistent acne. thats why i invested in the epic sized 250g tub for only £4! im gunna have years im sure...

enough of my babbling! i'll do an outfit post of my new skirt soon, maybe this afternoon, just see how my school work goes :)

Boohoo Dress Review

my impulse buy paid off!! i'm totally in love with this dress, its perfect :)  it arrived last week but only now i've got round to posting about it.  this dress is perfect for summer and lazy days at the beach.  just thinking about it gets me excited for my holiday!! eeek:)  the dress is just a light floral cotton with cute buttons up the centre.  i choose to leave the top two buttons undone as having them done up isn't the most flattering on me :)   it is a little short,  but when you laying by the pool or beach all day, i don't think anyone really cares.  enough of my babbling, anyone seen any nice summer dresses on the highstreet?

Wednesday

all things pretty :)

for my first proper attempt of fruity nails at 1:00am last night i don't think these are half bad in all fairness!  there are some messy ones but please don't judge too harshly :)

so basically these nails are super simple to do! if i had thought about it whilst i was doing them i would have taken step by step photos, but i don't think of these things in the moment :) anyways! simply two coats of Models Own Fuzzy Peach, leave to dry and then apply one coat of Models Own Juicy Jules.  Carefully then  paint a thin line of Models Own Emerald City along the tip of you nail (basically like a french tip:) ) then i used E.L.F Dark Navy for the seed like pips using a cocktail stick (ideally a nail art pen would be best!!) but cocktails sticks will do for the lesser pro's amongst us!:) boom bobs your teapot! Watermelon-esq nails:)  anyone got any more fruity nail art ideas for me to try? im thinking of possibly doing some candy stripes next...

RIP WHITNEY!!

Although some will slag her off and blame her death on drugs and alcohol.  yes fame and the rock + roll lifestyle did go too her head!  But in reality Whitney Houston was purely a raw talent.  Such a beautiful lady, such a beautiful voice, and such beautiful words she sung!  Her outstanding music will live only for decades + more!  When i first heard "Greatest Love of All" the lyrics "if i fail, if i succeed at least i live as i believe.." stood out like no other + i have lived by those lyrics for years since!  Rest In Peace, Whitney you will be dearly missed <3

Scooooore!

sorry for the lack of blog posts this week its just been so hectic, but still not much interesting to blog about :( i've got a week off now for half term and got quite a bit planned so fingers crossed a few more posts will be be coming your way :)  Today me and the family had a lovely outing in to Cardiff to watch the first of Wales home games in the 6 nations! I think the end score of 27 - 13 to Wales enhanced our amazing day out, but even without that it was still an awesome day!  Myself and early starts don't get along at the best of times but on a Sunday its a million times worse! however it was totally worth it :) happydays!  i went with my two brothers, dad, brothers girlfriend and her dad,  these^ photos are just a few snaps from the day, and my epically 'uge Calzone in Prezzo (was extremely yummy!)

Summer Excitment..

i mentioned in yesterdays post about looking for my summer wardrobe already.  so seems as this weekend i've been a total slob, i thought i would have a browse on-line at clothes i cant afford :(  any how, i just came across this day dress from boohoo.  its just soo pretty!  perfect for summer nights abroad and day trips back home.  for £20 i think i might have to suffer for a couple of weeks and invest.  i must have it!!  im such a floral person, im sure about 70% of my wardrobe consists of floral items!!

like i said i've been a total slob this weekend and am still in my dressing gown.  but now Wales have one their first match of the 6nations tournament, wooooooooo! i think its time i got myself sorted myself out and got some school work done! #challenge for the night...

Aztec Skirt Need..

i saw this skirt in-store a couple of weeks ago. and since i've been searching the RI website most days waiting to for it  become available on-line!!  i absolutely adore it, such a fun item of clothing to have in your wardrobe.  it would definitely last right through to summer as well as being suitable in these winter months, + at only £15 its a total RI bargain! we all love a good bargain.  recently i've been having a real rummage in the high street stores preparing my wardrobe for Magaluf in July.  i may have several dresses and outfits to take with me already but new clothes for a girls holiday is an absolute must!!  i might be able to treat myself to a few things after next weeks pay day... we'll see :)

this is a bit of a boring post, but when your still in your onesie because the snow has forced you to miss your open day. you result to anything! i've even got my exam prep up to date :O shock of the century!

Eylure Lash Fix Review..

When an urgency, become and emergency savers is the place to go!  Running out of eyelash glue at 7:30am probably isn't most convenient time for this to happen, but nevertheless it did :( litterally using up the last of the gooey mess, meant a desperate need for eyelash glue! i didn't care where from, how much but i needed it, PRONTO!

Within the past 6 months i have become completely addicted to wearing falsies daily.  im still not sure to this day where the compulsion has come from, but i cannot go anywhere without them on, even school! well you know when someone who constantly wears glasses takes them off + they look a tidge bare? thats how i feel when i take of my eyelashes. i've tried several brands within the past few months and e.l.f dramtic Lash Kit come out on top everytime! and at only £1.50 per pair (and most other products) and £2.95 delivery,  you can't not cave in and make an order! such good value for money, and i've been using their products for year and only had one faulty item :)

Back to the review: This Eylure Lash Fix was the first that i came across, at only £2.19 for 6ml, it was a must buy, and well worth the money!  i never realised how far a 6ml tube of eyelash glue would go, theres tonnes of it!!  (definately worth the mad panic into town this afternoon)  i've always used Eylure glue in the past but only the little tubes that come with the strip lashes, and compare to the icky e.l.f eyelash glue i've been using recently its the cleanest and easiest to apply eyelash glue i've ever come across! would definately recommend it to friends, and totally worth the £2.19 price tag. smiles all round :D

What a night!!  My love for Olly Murs has forever being crazy.. but its now got a whole lot crazier!!  He is absolute perf-friggin'-fection :D so maybe im a little bit obsessed... but i couldn't care less, because i love him! i've never been close to tears at a concert but Olly had me filling up last night.  His song i need you now is soo beautiful, and has so much meaning!  + i have recorded so i can listen + watch on demand ;)  (...maybe a little obsessed...)

so as you've probably guessed, i went to see Olly Murs Live at the CIA(i refuse to call it the Motorpoint Arena, its just not right!), last night, safe to say i loved it a little bit...  minus the near tears and the 'uge obsession! I had an amazing night still!  it literally couldn't have been better :D myself and two friends, Laura + Sophie went to see the show and they too loved it!  i went in with a fully warmed up voice ready to sing my socks off, and left with barely a croak.. oh!  however, i would happily go and see him again tonight at the Motorpoint arena, and loose my voice and blister my feet all over again just to see his cheeky little dances!  awww...
